Although Dehkhoda’s "<em>Amsalva Hekam</em>" is one of the most important books in Persian proverbs and is one of the most referred books in Persian language and literature and comparative paremiology researches, it is not free of shortcomings, like all of the handwritten works, and needs investigation and rewriting in some cases. Some of  the shortcomings of  the  book are: lack of introduction and comprehensive definition of proverb, not separating the proverb, assimilation, implication of the proverb, current channel of the proverb and the wisdom, not having thematic table of contents, disharmony of some subentries with respective entries, not separating informal proverbs from fluent literary ones, plenty of print and non – print mistakes, not having an identical method in citing verses and wisdom quotes and not including the reference or author’s name in most cases, disorder and lack of integrity in the book regarding system and structure, and quoting rhymed and prose phrases regardless of whether they are winged. In this regand, after studying the book and considering the texts and papers written on critique of this collection, authors attempt to gather and investigate these shortcomings by mentioning evidences and instances of Persian and Arabic.   این نوشته حاصل پژوهشی است، نقّادانه دربارة کتاب امثال و حکم دهخدا که نگارندگان با هدف بررسی و برطرف کردن برخی از کاستی‌های این مجموعه به آن پرداخته‌اند. با این که امثال و حکم دهخدا، یکی از مهم‌ترین کتاب‌ها در زمینة امثال فارسی و یکی از منابع معتبر در تحقیقات زبان و ادبیّات فارسی و پژوهش‌های مربوط به مثل‌شناسی تطبیقی است، باز به سان همة آثار قلمی خالی از نقص نیست و در مواردی به بازنگری و بازنگاری نیاز دارد. از جمله کاستی‌های این کتاب نداشتن مقدّمه و تعریفی جامع از مثل، عدم تفکیک مثل، تمثّل، تضمّنِ مثل، جاری مجرای مثل و حکمت، نداشتن فهرست موضوعی، مطابقت نداشتن برخی از زیرمدخل‌ها با مدخل‌های مربوط به آن، عدم تفکیک امثال عامیانه از مثل‌های فصیح ادبی، وجود خطاهای فراوان چاپی و غیر چاپی، نداشتن شیوه‌ای یکسان در ارجاع ابیات و سخنان حکمت‌آمیز و نیاوردن نام گوینده یا مأخذ در بیشتر موارد، بی نظمی و عدم انسجام کتاب از نظر اسلوب و ساختار و نقل عبارت‌های منظوم و منثور بدون توجّه به سائره بودن یا نبودن آنهاست. نگارندگان پس از بررسی این کتاب و با در نظرداشتِ نوشته‌ها و مقالاتی که در نقد این مجموعه به نگارش درآمده، به جمع آوری و بررسی این نواقص همراه با ذکر شواهد و نمونه‌های فارسی و عربی اقدام نموده‌اند.   https://rpll.ui.ac.ir/article_19228_5ba5c45896a4cef4fae9afa36528dcb7.pdf
