Abstract

The present study examines an ancient translation of the Sahifa al-Sajjadiyah, a collection of prayers of Imam al-Sajjad (a.s.), and attempts to extract, classify, and introduce its calligraphy, stylistic, grammatical, and translational features. For this purpose, the entire text (Arabic and its translation) was examined, and all of the aforementioned features were carefully noted and categorized. The results of this study, which was written using a descriptive-analytical method and based on library sources, show that this text is an ancient and valuable translation that can be dated back to around the ninth century AH. The literal translation method, the ancient linguistic style such as using the pronoun "wise" for "unwise" and equivalents such as "أوجههم عندک: روشناس ترین آنها نزد تو"the most enlightened of them with you," "توحیدک: یکایکی تو " can emphasize that the text belongs to around the ninth century. . .. . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . .. . . . . . . .. . . . .
