This research investigates common errors in attributing the works of Seyyed Sharif Horoufi to Seyyed Sharif Jorjani. Despite being contemporaries and sharing a similar name, there are fundamental differences in the thought and style of their works. An examination of sources such as the tazkerehs (biographical anthologies) Riyaz al-Sho'ara by Valeh Daghestani and Arafat al-Asheqin by Owhadi Balyani reveals that some poems found in the divan of Seyyed Sharif Horoufi have been mistakenly attributed to Seyyed Sharif Jorjani. Furthermore, in the book Panj Resaleh (Five Treatises), which stylistic evidence indicates belongs to Seyyed Sharif Horoufi, characteristics of Jorjani have been recorded, pointing to this historical mistake. In the bibliographical article on Sharif, three odes are recorded as the Persian poems of Sharif Jorjani; however, these poems are actually found in the divan of Seyyed Sharif Horoufi. Mir Seyyed Sharif Jorjani is primarily known as a philosopher and theologian, and his works have theological and philosophical aspects, while Seyyed Sharif Horoufi belonged to the Horoufi school, and his poetry is filled with mystical concepts and Horoufi symbolism. This study, conducted using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on manuscripts and authoritative sources, demonstrates the necessity of revising previous attributions and conducting more precise research to distinguish the works of these two figures. The results of this research can help correct misattributions in literary and mystical sources.
