Asadi Tusi, in the narrative folds of the Garshaspnameh, articulates his ideological and philosophical insights regarding creation, the cosmos, and its hierarchical levels. In his thought, the hierarchy of the universe originates from God. Through His Will, the 'World of Command' (Alam al-Amr) is brought into existence. From the Divine Command, the Intellect (Universal Intellect), the Soul (Universal Soul), and subsequently, Hyle (prime matter) emerge. The gemstones, heavens, earth, and the threefold progeny give rise to the hierarchical levels of the physical world. The essence of the physical universe is composed of the four elements. The cosmos is temporal (contingent) and was created for a specific purpose; humanity stands as the final and most perfect stage of creation, being a composite of both the spiritual and the physical realms. The creation of humanity is the ultimate goal behind the establishment of the spiritual and physical hierarchies. Man's duty is to uncover the mystery of existence by relying on intellect and adhering to religious teachings, thereby attaining eternal felicity. This research, conducted via a descriptive-analytical method, analyzes the hierarchy of creation or the subject of cosmology from Asadi Tusi's perspective. Asadi's views on the creation of the world and the levels of existence stem from the general outlook of previous and contemporary sages, influenced by the dissemination of Gnostic and Neoplatonic thought in the Islamic world through translations.
